Decolonizing Eastern European Studies: Interview with Professor Serhii Plokhii
In this public interview, Stepan Blinder and Professor Serhii Plokhii will discuss the broadly defined decolonization of Eastern European Studies in the context of the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.

Serhii Plokhii is the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Professor of Ukrainian History and the director of the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University. A leading authority on Ukraine, Russia, and Eastern Europe, he has published extensively on the international history of World War II and the Cold War. His books won numerous awards, including the Lionel Gelber Prize for the best English-language book on the international relations and the Ballie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction (UK). His new book, Atoms and Ashes: From Bikini Atoll to Fukushima was released by Penguin in May 2022.

Stepan Blinder is a PhD Candidate in Slavonic Studies at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom). He holds a prestigious Harding Distinguished Postgraduate Scholarship from the University of Cambridge. In 2022, he co-founded the Cambridge East European History Workshop - the first in the Cambridge history fully affiliated doctoral seminar in Eastern European history.
